Colin Sylvia is likely to play in Monday’s Queen’s Birthday clash against Collingwood at the MCG
MIDFIELDER Colin Sylvia is likely to play in Monday’s Queen’s Birthday clash against Collingwood at the MCG.
Sylvia suffered a corked thigh against Essendon last Friday night and was substituted for second-gamer Daniel Nicholson.
Defender Colin Garland is not without a chance of returning this round, after injuring his ankle in round eight.
Garland was set to miss a greater time period, but has progressed better than expected in his recovery.
Like Sylvia, he must pass a fitness test first. It’s not yet determined if Garland will return straight away or come back via Casey.
Defender Clint Bartram (hip) is also in the mix to return, but he too must be cleared fit to play. Rookie Kelvin Lawrence (thigh) faces a fitness test this week.
Youngster Luke Tapscott (hamstring) is still another week away, while ruckman Mark Jamar (knee) and dasher Rohan Bail (knee) are at least two more matches.
Vice-captain Aaron Davey (knee) is out for another 6-8 weeks.
Versatile talls Michael Newton (foot) and Jack Fitzpatrick (ankle) remain sidelined for 4-6 weeks.
As expected, Jack Grimes (foot) and Jake Spencer (knee) are out for the season.
