WHILE the players are competing on the track, CEO Cameron Schwab and Board Member Russel Howcroft are competing against each other in the Leaders’ Challenge for FebFast.
The pair have given up alcohol for the month of February, all in the name of a good cause. All money raised from FebFast goes to community services throughout Australia, supporting children as young as 13 to overcome alcohol and drug addiction.
While the alcohol free month has a plethora of benefits, ABC's The Gruen Transfer panelist Howcroft admits it is proving challenging: “Being keen on socialising I was a little worried about the implications of FebFast but thus far it has been a terrific experience.
"I don’t mind admitting that it has been somewhat of a challenge but, rather pleasingly, not so bad, indeed far more good than bad.
"It’s a great fundraising idea that appears to be gaining more and more traction every year. I am looking forward to March 1, but I am also looking forward to February 2013!"
Demons CEO Schwab said: “It’s great to be able to support a cause that helps to prevent drug and alcohol addiction in young people. Supporting FebFast will also help me prepare for the upcoming season.”
Schwab and Howcroft are battling it out to see who can raise the most money. If you can’t decide who to pledge your alliance to, how about donating to both of them?
