Bailey openly spoke about the duo following Friday night’s 47-point loss to Carlton at the MCG.
“There’s a couple of young blokes at Casey, who are seriously in contention as well,” he said.
“Tom McDonald is a young guy, who has been playing reasonably well down back for us, as a tall defender.
“Maxy Gawn has been good, our ruckman, so there are a couple for us to look at for next week.”
Bailey said midfielder Jack Trengove and forward Lynden Dunn would return from suspension.
He also indicated 2009 No.1 NAB AFL Draft pick Tom Scully was also a genuine possibility to play against the Bombers. Scully was named to play for Casey Scorpions this weekend, after not playing since the pre-season, due to a knee injury.
“We’ll see how Tom Scully gets through the game,” Bailey said.
And vice-captain Aaron Davey hasn’t been ruled out from an early return. Bailey flagged earlier in the week that Davey could be sidelined for two matches, after sustaining a knee injury against St Kilda last round.
“He might be a chance next week,” he said.
