MELBOURNE duo James Frawley and Mark Jamar have made this year’s All-Australian team, but 2010 Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Trophy winner Brad Green has been surprisingly overlooked.

Frawley was named at back-pocket and Jamar gained a berth on the interchange.

It’s the first time both have been named in the All-Australian team.

It’s also the first time Melbourne has had two All-Australian representatives in the one side since David Neitz and Adem Yze were named in 2002.

Frawley had an outstanding year down back. His ability to stymie the likes of key forwards Jack Riewoldt, Jonathan Brown and Matthew Pavlich in 2010 played a significant part in his inclusion.

His versatility was also a factor, as he could also play on smaller opponents. Frawley’s rebound and speed was also a key attribute for a player of his size.

Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands was universally regarded the premier ruckman in 2010, with Jamar widely seen as the next best. He was duly recognised for his season, ahead of former Cat and first-year Swan Shane Mumford.

Green missed out, despite kicking 55 goals and averaging almost 20 disposals per match.

Previously, from 1993-95 and in 2002, Melbourne had two players in each All-Australian team.

Garry Lyon and Jim Stynes were named in 1993, Stephen Tingay and Lyon (1994), Lyon and David Neitz (1995) and Adem Yze and Neitz (2002).

Stynes (1991), Todd Viney (1998), Jeff Farmer (2000), Jeff White (2004) and James McDonald (2006) are the only other Melbourne All-Australians from the previous 19 sides.
