Final quarter
The Dogs kicked the first two goals of the final term to break clear by 29 points.
But when Aaron Davey snapped a beauty to land his second and Cale Morton followed up, the Dees were back in the contest. Behinds to Colin Garland and Lynden Dunn followed and the Demons were within 14 points.
However, when youngster Mitch Wallis kicked one at the 26-minute mark, the Dogs were back out to 20 points and it was game over. The final margin was a 21-point win to the Dogs - their first for 2012.

Third quarter
Liam Jones booted a goal within the opening 30 seconds of the third quarter to extend the Dogs’ lead to 21 points.
Given Melbourne had booted just four goals for the season in the third term, the signs were ominous.
But the Demons lifted with some fine play to boot three in a row and four goals for the term. The Dees got to within one point, but when Jarrad Grant and Nathan Djerrkura added late goals for the Dogs, they led by 15 points at the final change.

Second quarter
The Demons pegged the margin back to four points when Aaron Davey snapped a fine goal to start the second term.
But the Bulldogs booted the next three in a row, including two from Adam Cooney.
The Dogs led by 20 points late in the term, but when Matthew Bate marked and kicked truly right on half-time, the Dees reeled the deficit back to 15 points.

First Quarter
After a moving tribute to the late, great Jim Stynes pre-match, the twilight match started at 4.40pm.
Bulldog Ryan Griffen kicked the first goal of the match, before Mitch Clark opened Melbourne’s account.
The Demons finished with one more scoring shot for the term, but two more goals from the Dogs put them up by nine points at the first break.
