MELBOURNE has added to its young midfield stocks, selecting classy speedster Xavier Lindsay with Pick No.11 in the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft.
The poised, 183cm midfielder is a meterage machine, ranking second at the National Championships for metres gained.
The Gippsland Power product also took out the Morrish Medal as the Best and Fairest player of the Coates Talent League.
Lindsay’s Coates campaign was ended by a PCL injury in the final home and away match.
The smooth midfielder is a versatile prospect, with his neat ball-use and penetrating kick giving him the ability to play across all areas of the ground.
At the 2024 AFL U18 National Championships, Lindsay averaged 22.7 disposals, five tackles, five inside 50s and 4.7 clearances for Vic Country.
