GEELONG have stormed home to record a 39-point victory over Melbourne at GMHBA Stadium.

The loss leaves the Demons still searching for a win in 2025 after the 12.13 (85) to 6.10 (46) contest.

After a shaky start, the Dees fought back in the second term to go into half time just 15 points behind.

A strong third quarter surge, led by skipper Max Gawn and midfield star Clayton Oliver, saw the Dees cut the margin to just 10 points midway through the term.

However, a strong mark and goal from Dangerfield helped Geelong regain momentum. The Cats ran away in the final term with four unanswered goals to close out the match.

Gawn (34 hitouts, five clearances) led from the front, while Christian Petracca (two goals) and Kysaiah Pickett provided sparks in attack.

The Demons will look to bounce back next week in Gather Round, as the focus turns to a pivotal clash against Essendon.
