HARVEY Langford’s AFL dream has become a reality, selected by Melbourne with pick No.6 at the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft.
One of the most sought-after players in this year’s draft crop, Langford has put together arguably the most consistent campaign of the 2024 Coates Talent League season.
Considered to be the ultimate all-round football talent, Langford arrives at the Dees from the Dandenong Stingrays, having co-captained them to a preliminary final.
His most prominent performance for the Stingrays came at 33 disposals and four goals, while his campaign for Vic Country at the U18 National Championships saw him take out the Larke Medal for league MVP.
Standing at 191cm, Langford’s strength, running ability, leadership and proven competency to play at an elite level will allow him to comfortably slot into the club’s AFL list.
At the 2024 AFL U18 National Championships, Langford averaged 25 disposals, six marks, six clearances and six inside 50s for Vic Country.
