TWO of Melbourne’s young Demons have been voted into the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22.

Eliza McNamara and Tahlia Gillard both feature in the final team, named on the interchange.

The AFLPA 22Under22 team is a fan-voted concept that looks to recognise the competition’s top young talent.

To be eligible for the team, the players must be aged 22 and under and have played a minimum of five games.

McNamara earns the selection after a breakout campaign that saw her produce career-best numbers across multiple areas.

Lining up for Melbourne along the wing, the 22-year-old made regular impact during games, averaging 22 disposals, seven intercepts and five marks.

Gillard’s selection comes after yet another year leading Melbourne’s backline.

At just 20 years old, the tall Demon has become an unstoppable force, cemented as one of the best lockdown defenders in the league. This season saw her average six intercepts and a league-high six spoils.
