BRENT Moloney says he will be doing everything possible to be reinstated as a Melbourne vice-captain.

The tenacious ball-winner spoke of his desire to return to the leadership group after he was relinquished of his position. He was stood down after being drunk at a St Kilda nightspot in the early hours on Monday.

“I’m doing everything I can to win it back,” Moloney said.

“It’s not setting the right example.”

Moloney also said sorry to the Melbourne members and supporters, adding that it was not model behaviour.

“[It’s] very embarrassing. I pride myself on my leadership and when I got the vice-captaincy it was a great honour,” he said.

“To be getting that taken away from me is very disappointing.

“I’ve let myself down, I’ve let the club down and I’ve let my family down.”
