THE MELBOURNE Football Club community has once again shown outstanding support for the Club through generous donations towards the recently launched 100% Melbourne supporter campaign.
The campaign aimed to raise money to pay 100% of the salary cap, but remain 100% debt free.
Melbourne Vice President Don McLardy said that the Club had been overwhelmed with the response which, combined with the efforts of the Foundation Heroes dinner, has seen over $850,000 raised.
“It is fantastic to see our unconditional supporters stand up proud for the Club and show that they are 100% Melbourne,” he said.
“It is important that we fight to secure our future stars and these donations will certainly contribute towards this.”
“We have been thrilled to see the likes of Jack Trengove, Luke Tapscott, Max Gawn and, most recently, Colin Sylvia choosing to stand up. These have been proud moments for the Club.”
All supporters who donated received an email with a video from Jack Trengove thanking them for their contribution.
Supporters who donated over $100 will have their name published in the 2011 Yearbook and those over $1000 will be invited to have their photo taken on the MCG with one of our 12 premiership cups.
