The Melbourne Football Club, in conjunction with the Department of Education and Training, has partnered to provide valuable content and resources for children and their families as Victoria returns to flexible and remote learning.
The partnership is an extension of the #ihaveyourback anti-bullying campaign and will focus on key themes including gratitude, resilience, the benefits of physical activity and mindfulness.
The content series, which features a variety of videos involving Melbourne AFL and AFLW players, aim to provide students, families and teachers with tips and insights into how to stay positive and supported during these challenging times.
CEO Gary Pert said he was proud of Melbourne’s involvement with the Department of Education and Training and the club’s ability to support families.
“The Melbourne Football Club is incredibly proud to extend our partnership with the Department of Education and Training and to providing meaningful resources and tips to Victorian kids and their families during this time”.
“Our players are wonderful ambassadors of the community and we know that their messages on key themes such as showing resilience and practicing gratitude are particularly important right now.”
Minister for Education James Merlino also acknowledged the importance of providing resources to assist students.
“We know the pandemic is having an impact on the wellbeing of our students, that’s why we’re releasing a series of videos in partnership with the Melbourne Football Club to help support student wellbeing in Term 3," Merlino said.
“The videos featuring Melbourne Football Club players will build on existing mental health and wellbeing supports and will provide students with tips on resilience, managing stress and anxiety, gratitude and staying active.”
