Todd Viney’s season assessment
Jeremy was a really good find. He played some exciting footy as a forward and took some great marks. His foot skills inside 50 were great. Jeremy also played a bit further up the ground at times. He has a really good work rate.

AFL: Round 1 v Sydney Swans
Injured: ankle
VFL: Round 1 v Geelong
Injured: ankle
VFL reserves: Round 2 v Port Melbourne
Jeremy kicked two goals in his first match back after an ankle injury. He was lively, which was good. Brad Gotch
VFL: Round 3 v North Ballarat
Jeremy played his first senior match for Casey. He had 14 possessions and kicked a really good goal in the first quarter. He should’ve kicked another, but he had good chemistry with the other forwards, so he showed some promise. Brad Gotch
VFL: Round 4 - Bye
VFL: Round 5 v Frankston
Jeremy played his second game in the seniors, and I threw him back and forward a bit. He kicked a goal up forward and did some good defensive things down back. He was also good one-on-one and took some really nice marks - contested and aerial. He was also good on the ground. He looked a likely type. Brad Gotch
Jeremy played forward and did well. He kicked a couple of goals and took some big marks. I thought he worked solidly, but he had a few areas to work on like his awareness on a couple of occasions, but that will improve. Brad Gotch
VFL: Round 7 v Bendigo Bombers
Jeremy was our best player, I thought. He kicked three goals and took seven marks. He also had 19 touches and played mainly as a forward. He was deep and up the ground - he played the different roles well. Jeremy hit-up and gave us some goals, so it was a really good game. Brad Gotch
Jeremy was a good focal point. He took five marks and kicked a couple of goals. Jeremy also pushed up the ground a fair bit. Brad Gotch
AFL: Round 11 v Essendon
It was a fantastic debut by Jeremy. He will benefit greatly from this game. He was involved in some excellent passages of play and hit the scoreboard. Jeremy brought great attributes to our team. Mark Williams
AFL: Round 13 v Fremantle
Once again, Jeremy was an excitement machine. His work rate was outstanding, as was his ability to take contested marks under pressure. He kicked two goals and helped set up several others. Given more opportunities, he will develop. Mark Williams
Howie’s work-rate was good. He chased and his defensive skills were solid as always. He took some strong contested marks and moved the ball on quickly by hand and foot. He made a few decision errors later in the game, which resulted in Carlton turning the ball over. Mark Williams
AFL: Round 22 v Richmond
Jeremy had a quiet game and didn’t involve himself enough in the play. He didn’t work hard enough to give himself opportunities to win the ball or make his defender defend. Mark Williams
Howey’s work rate was again a highlight. His versatility is a real asset to our team. He was very solid in the air - he used the ball really well and finished with a goal. Mark Williams
