CASEY Scorpions have defeated Box Hill Hawks by seven points at Casey Fields on Saturday night.
Casey 12.11 (83) defeated Box Hill 11.10 (76) to notch up its sixth win of the season and remain on top of the VFL ladder.
After trailing by 10 points at quarter-time, Casey took the lead at half-time and held a one-point advantage at three quarter-time.
Chris Dawes booted three goals and had 22 disposals, as he continues to impress after an injury-interrupted pre-season.
He also booted the final goal to help Casey to victory.
Former co-captain Jack Grimes was outstanding with 34 disposals.
Christian Salem (28 disposals), Mitch White (28) and Jack Trengove (25) were other Melbourne-listed players to shine.
The Scorpions have the bye next weekend.
