Barlow finished with 44 disposals, 13 tackles and three goals to stake serious claims for a recall.
His effort was even more noteworthy when considering the scoreboard, with Peel winning 5.9 (39) to 3.7 (25) in tough, wet conditions.
Tendai Mzungu and Cam Sutcliffe both also won their fair share of the ball, with 29 and 25 disposals respectively.

Melbourne continues to be patient with injury-plagued Jack Trengove, but will find it hard to overlook his impressive numbers at VFL level.
The former Demons skipper racked up 25 disposals in the exciting seven-point win over Box Hill and has been mounting his case for a senior recall. Trengove hasn't featured in the AFL since round two, 2014, having suffered two fractures of the navicular bone in his left foot.
Trengove was well complemented by Jack Grimes who collected 34 touches, as well as Chris Dawes who had 22 possessions to go along with his three goals.
Rookie-listed Mitch White and the omitted Christian Salem were prominent with 28 disposals apiece.
