The Casey Demons are proud to celebrate the selection of four of our talented athletes who will represent the club in this weekend’s 2025 AAMI State Games.

Riley Bonner has been named in the Smithy’s VFL State Team, while Sophie Casey, Lauren Jatczak and Meg Macdonald have all been selected in the inaugural rebel VFLW State Team — a historic moment as it marks the first time a women’s representative team has taken the field since the rebel VFLW competition was established in 2017.

These well-deserved selections highlight the dedication, talent and hard work of each player, and we couldn’t be prouder to see them earn the honour of pulling on the Big V.

The 2025 AAMI State Games will form part of a blockbuster weekend of football during the AFL’s Gather Round, shining a spotlight on some of the best talent from across the country.

The VFLW State Team will kick off the weekend playing SANFL on Friday, April 11 at 6:30pm local (7:00pm AEST) at Alberton Oval, and can be streamed live on AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App.

The VFL State Team will battle it out with the SANFL on Saturday, April 12 at Tanunda Recreation Park, with the first bounce at 2:45pm local (3:15pm AEST). The match will be broadcast live and free on 7Mate and 7plus.

From everyone at the Casey Demons, we wish Riley, Meg, Sophie and Lauren the very best for the weekend.
