Todd Viney’s season assessment
Jack played a lot through the midfield. He developed as an inside midfielder and his defensive pressure was very good. His leadership really came to the fore towards the end of the season. Overall, he had a pretty consistent season.

Given his preparation - after hurting his ankle in the pre-season - he got himself up to play a very important role for the team. Some of his contested marks were pretty important and came at key moments in the match. Mark Williams

Jack was used in several positions and provided some good run-and-carry out of the backline. He also used the ball well. Jack built some good form which was really important for our midfield and team. Mark Williams

Jack had another solid game. He had 10 contested possessions and put his body on the line for the team. He kicked a goal at an important stage of the game and continued to make good decisions and use the ball effectively. Mark Williams
Jack was quiet and looked a bit flat coming off the Darwin trip, which can happen to young players. He marked the ball well and his involvement in play was effective, but overall he had limited impact on the game. Mark Williams
Jack had a quiet game and wasn’t involved enough. Mark Williams
Jack had 24 possessions and 75 per cent were effective. His physicality was terrific - he finished the day with 10 tackles. He continued his emergence as one of our most important flexible players. Mark Williams
It was a very good game from Jack. His repeat efforts and work rate were outstanding. He read the game really well and used the ball intelligently. His in-and-under work was fantastic, as was his spread away from stoppages. Mark Williams

Jack had another solid game. He read the game so well and put himself in the right spots to win and distribute the ball. He used the ball very effectively and had an impact when he went forward, kicking two goals. Mark Williams
Jack fumbled his ball-handling a little bit early in the match, but he worked his way into the game through hard work. He set up some great passages of play later in the match and was part of some great scoring chains. Mark Williams
Jack had another very good game. He had 27 possessions, 12 contested and took six marks. He also kicked an important goal. He put his head over the ball and went hard at every opportunity. It was a good way to finish the year. Mark Williams
