TWO YOUNG Demons have featured in the AFLPA’s 22Under22 squad for Season Seven.

On the back of standout individual campaigns, midfield duo Tyla Hanks and Olivia Purcell have been considered Melbourne’s brightest young talents, named alongside 42 of their opponents.

The fan-voted side of 22 will be announced in the coming weeks, with supporters of the game asked to get behind their favourite players.

Hanks is vying for her third consecutive selection in the team, having established herself as one of the game’s brightest talents.

While expectations on the former Rising Star winner are high, Hanks continues to deliver for the Dees, averaging 18 disposals and 5.6 tackles throughout the season.

The elite ball user has shown her class through the midfield, working in tandem with Purcell who has racked up the footy on the inside.

Crossing over from Geelong at the end of 2021, Purcell had to overcome an ACL injury before making her Demon debut, and she hasn’t taken a backwards step since.

With 24.4 disposals and four tackles each week, the 22-year-old has been one of her side’s best performers in Season Seven.

After being named in this squad once during her time with the Cats, Purcell has put her best foot forward to secure a place in the final 22 this time around.
