Season Overview:
Petracca started 2021 coming off a career-best season where he won the club's best and fairest award, finished equal third in the Brownlow medal and received All-Australian honours. It was just the start for the star midfielder who went on to have an unforgettable season in the red and blue.
Petracca was once again a force within the Melbourne side using his physical strength and explosive skills to not only be a danger through the midfield but saw him make an impact up forward kicking 29 goals.
He received second-time All-Australian honours and finished ninth in the Brownlow medal count with 23 votes. His stats sheet is an example of his impact across the league, leading the competition in score involvements (208 total) and inside 50s (171 total).
His best performance came on the biggest day in September with the 25-year-old’s Grand Final game a spectacle to watch. His memorable display included a long list of impressive stats collecting 39 disposals, 24 contested possessions, 15 score involvements, nine clearances and two goals. Petracca walked away with two slices of history – a premiership medallion and a Norm Smith medal.
