MELBOURNE forward Tom McDonald will continue to be monitored during the week, after back spasms forced him to the sidelines during Round 20’s clash with the Suns.

Young Demon Deakyn Smith unfortunately sustained a concussion in the Casey Demons’ match against the Bulldogs on Saturday. He will go through the concussion protocols, meaning he will miss the VFL’s Round 17 game this coming weekend.

In positive news, Bailey Laurie returned to the VFL on Saturday and was able to successfully play out the game, returning from a shoulder injury that put him out of action for nearly a month.  

Mitch Brown, who has been out with a heel injury, is progressing well in his rehabilitation and will look to make a slow return to play this weekend in the VFL.
