WITH the AFLW Trade Period officially closed, Melbourne’s attention will now turn to tonight’s 2024 Telstra Draft.

During the previous week’s trade movements, the Dees saw inaugural player Lily Mithen depart the club for the Gold Coast Suns, while also parting ways with 2024 draft picks No.10, 28 and 46.

With the above movements, Melbourne received 2024 draft selections No.2 and No.20 in the deal, moving up the draft order and putting the club in a prime position for recruitment of top talent, this year’s crop of young players dubbed one of the best in women’s football history.

Tonight’s event will be the league’s first national selection with all players required to nominate for an Australia-wide draft.

Live coverage will be exclusive to AFL.com.au + the AFL app, commencing from 7pm (AEDT).
