CASEY coach Brad Gotch runs through the Melbourne-listed players who played for the Scorpions in the VFL Qualifying Final

Seniors
Port Melbourne 24.16 (160) d. Casey Scorpions 9.9 (63), TEAC Oval, Saturday, September 3, 2.10 pm

Troy Davis: Troy was good, battling hard in defence. Unfortunately, he conceded at least three goals, and, on occasion, his kicking options were costly.

Michael Newton: In what was a fair effort, Juice created some opportunities early on, but let himself down with ball use. However, he filled in well as a second ruck option.

Matthew Warnock: Matt did a good job, stopping Rose in his tracks. He was a sound contributor, despite only having nine touches.

Lynden Dunn: Lynden was OK, kicking one goal and having ten possessions for the game. There is no doubt that he can have more impact, both in team involvements and through the middle.

Joel Macdonald: Joel was rated as OK, playing in a variety of positions and giving them his best efforts, although on occasion he overused the handball and put his teammates under pressure.

Kelvin Lawrence: Kelvin’s effort was fair, as he seemed to go missing a bit this week. His tackles were down, as were his touches, but he did kick a neat boundary goal at the start of the second quarter.

Tom McNamara: Without his normal energy on display, Tom looked flat, and allowed the opposition midfield too much freedom. He needs to be more defensively minded in such situations.

Max Gawn: Max was good, and battled gamely against quality ruck opponents. He never gave up, finishing the game with 16 possessions and six marks, and followed up with a good performance at ground level, showing mobility and skill.

Reserves - Elimination Final

Coburg Tigers 12.8 (80) d. Casey Scorpions 11.13 (79), TEAC Oval, Saturday, September 3, 11am

Cameron Johnston: Cameron played mainly across half-back and produced a solid performance. He used the ball well on most occasions, and played his role for the team.
