CLAYTON Oliver has gone to the top of the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leaderboard after polling top votes in Round 10.
The Melbourne midfielder was judged best afield by the coaches on Saturday night, receiving 10 votes for his standout performance against Adelaide.
Oliver recorded 38 disposals, 27 of which were contested, 13 clearances, 11 score involvements and three goals at Adelaide Oval. He also managed nine tackles in his side’s one-point loss.
He now sits two votes ahead of the Western Bulldogs’ Marcus Bontempelli and Brisbane’s Hugh McCluggage.
Three other Demons were recognised for their efforts on the weekend, with Jake Lever awarded three votes and Christian Petracca and Ed Langdon receiving one each.
Adelaide’s Paul Seedsman (seven votes), Ben Keays (seven votes) and Taylor Walker (two votes) rounded out the top performers.
