A quintet of experienced veterans have all committed to the Demons, with Lauren Pearce, Sarah Lampard, Paxy Paxman, Tayla Harris and Gabby Colvin all signing on.

Paxman, Harris and Colvin have all signed one-year contracts while Lampard and Pearce have signed two-year deals which will extend their time until at least the end of 2026.

AFLW List Manager Todd Patterson praised the group and the depth of experience they continue to bring to the team.

“This group have cumulatively played 324 games between them and bring a lifetime of skill and experience to our team,” Patterson said.

“They continue to push themselves, to be the best players they can be, and demonstrate care and generosity in mentoring our younger players.

“They have each shown immense resilience across their respective journeys, and we look forward to their contributions in the season to come.”

Pearce, a two-time All-Australian, is one of the most highly-regarded rucks in the competition.

Although her 2024 season was impacted with a scaphoid injury, she continued to provide valuable mentorship to fellow talls Georgia Campbell and Jacinta Hose.

Lampard played a new role in 2024, sharing time between defence and the midfield and averaging 12 disposals a game.

She was also a part of the senior leadership team, a clear indication of the respect her teammates feel for the 27-year-old.

Paxman was recently awarded Club Life Membership, an honour richly deserved by the five-time All-Australian and Premiership player.

Paxman struggled with foot injury throughout her 2024 campaign, but will be looking to bring her trademark competitive edge to the midfield in 2025.

Harris is one of the most recognisable faces in the AFLW, having played 70 games across her career.

The four-time All-Australian was set to make a shift to the defensive line in 2024 before shoulder injury halted her season.

Harris will bring her characteristic determination to her rehab to ensure that she is firing for 2025.

Colvin is a beloved teammate and an integral part of the defensive powerhouse.

Across her five seasons with the Demons, she has brought consistent energy and pressure to any role she undertakes.

Meanwhile, Aimee Mackin, still recovering from ACL injury sustained mid-2024, will remain on the inactive list while she rehabilitates in Ireland.
