TYLA Hanks has been deemed her side’s best for a second-straight week, polling the most votes in the AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award.
The 21-year-old, who received eight votes and a Rising Star Nomination last week, was again recognised by the two coaches, earning another eight votes for her performance against North Melbourne in Round 3.
Hanks also topped her career-high disposal count from Round 2, this week finishing with 23 touches in Melbourne’s nine-point win at Casey Fields on Saturday night.
Also managing nine tackles, she now moves to equal-sixth on the overall leaderboard.
Karen Paxman was the next best for the Demons, receiving five votes for her 25-disposal outing.
The vice-captain again proved why she’s among the best in the competition, playing a dominant role in Melbourne’s midfield before kicking a crucial goal.
Maddi Gay (16 disposals and six tackles) and Jackie Parry (three goals) were each awarded three votes for their games, with Sinead Goldrick (two votes) and Lily Mithen (one vote) also being recognised.
North Melbourne’s Jasmine Garner rounded out the top performers, awarded eight votes for her 15 disposals, 12 tackles and two goals.
