MELBOURNE'S Clint Bartram will miss the remainder of the 2012 season due to an ongoing knee injury.

Melbourne Football Manager Josh Mahoney said: “Clint has been managing a degenerative knee for the past four seasons.”

“This year, Clint’s injury has deteriorated further and has become increasingly difficult to manage.

“His diligence and attention to detail in his preparation and recovery has allowed him to manage the injury and continue to play throughout that time, however, following the Round 8 game against Sydney, Clint’s knee could no longer handle any training loads and therefore was unavailable to play.

The Club and Clint are exploring all treatment options in the hope of getting his knee back to a level that will allow Clint to continue his career at the MFC.

Clint Bartram has played 103 games since making his debut for the Club in 2005.

“Clint is 24 years old and hopefully has a lot of football left ahead of him. He is an extremely well respected player and his leadership around the Club has been outstanding. He will continue to play a key role in that area for the remainder of the season.”
