South East Juniors Auskick Clinic
Twelve Melbourne players, including Mark Jamar and Neville Jetta, ventured out to Dandenong to conduct an Auskick clinic with local residents before the recent South East Juniors preliminary final.
Over 30 diehard young Demons spent time with the players learning to tackle, handball and kick.
Mark Jamar said, “It’s great to meet so many excited children in the red and blue. There were some great skills on show. Hopefully we see some of these kids running around for the Dees down the track.”
At the conclusion of the clinic, the participants enjoyed an egg and bacon roll and fruit juice, while watching some great finals action from the South East Juniors.
South Metro Junior Football League presentation night
On Friday 23 August, Joel Macdonald and James Sellar took time out of their training schedule to attend the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) presentation night at Kingston Town Hall.
Macdonald and Sellar presented trophies to the top three place getters in each age group, along with Best and Fairest winners and premiership coaches.
James Sellar said, “It is awesome to see so many talented youngsters and proud mums and dads tonight. It brought back some good memories from my junior days.”
The Melbourne Football Club is proud to have been a community partner of the SMJFL for the past two years. The SMJFL has over 9000 registered players, and is one of the largest junior competitions in Australia.
