THIS SUNDAY, the Melbourne Football Club and The Reach Foundation will together celebrate Jim’s life at the MCG, leading into  the Demons’ Round 4 clash against the Western Bulldogs.

The Jim Stynes Tribute Game provides  a chance for all Victorians to gather in celebration of his contributions to football, the Reach Foundation and the greater community.

Legendary Australian singer Daryl Braithwaite will headline the entertainment, which will also include a performance of Irish ballad ‘Danny Boy’ from David Bridie and My Friend The Chocolate Cake.

Players will wear a special guernsey, with a green clover leaf emblazoned below the red V, and each player will be accompanied onto the field by a junior footballer from the Prahran Football Club - the club that Jim played for in the VFA as part of his football apprenticeship.

A guard of honour before the game will feature the Stynes family, Jim’s past teammates, and other Club legends.

The event will celebrate everything that made Jim Stynes such a special part of our lives.  There will be music, entertainment and the opportunity for everyone to pay tribute to the impact he had on so many of us.

Celebrations will commence at 3.45 pm, with the game to kick off at 4.40 pm.

Tickets are available from Ticketek. General admission members are encouraged to upgrade to reserved seating for this game, in order to ensure the best seats.
