Jurrah, who played nine matches in his first season last year, has been sidelined for most of the year, after suffering a shoulder injury during a NAB Challenge match against Adelaide at Elizabeth in March.
The 21-year-old has played the past two matches for Casey in the VFL, booting three goals against Werribee at Chirnside Park last round.
Coincidentally, Jurrah made his AFL debut in round 12, 2009 against the Bombers.
Sylvia injured it against Carlton in round 11, but returned for Casey last weekend.
Ruckman/forward Paul Johnson has also been recalled for his third match for the season.
From the initial side, half-back Jack Grimes (hamstring) and ruckman Jake Spencer (back) were forced omissions, while second-year Demon Neville Jetta has been relegated to an emergency this round.
Rohan Bail, who has battled quadriceps and hand injuries this year, is also an emergency, as is Addam Maric for the second successive match.
The Demons have named Joel Macdonald, Kyle Cheney, Johnson and Jurrah on their bench.
Melbourne will be aiming for its first victory since defeating Port Adelaide in round nine this Sunday.
It will also be looking to overcome Essendon for the first time since round 12, 2006.
