Scully’s future a secret: Bastinac
By Jay Clark

TOM Scully knows whether he will leave Melbourne for Greater Western Sydney - he's just not telling, good mate Ryan Bastinac says. The prized North Melbourne midfielder, who is also on the GWS radar, was adamant he would sign with the Roos next season. "My future is here," Bastinac said. "I'm happy at North. I'm loving every minute of it." Similarly, he suspects his mate at Melbourne, Scully, 20, also knows where his future lies. He is just not saying. "He's probably got his mind made up and knows what he's going to do," Bastinac, 19, said.

Melbourne chance for two picks if Scully goes
By Jake Niall

MELBOURNE would have a strong chance of securing the same compensation that Geelong received for Gary Ablett in the event that Tom Scully confirmed their worst fears and joined Greater Western Sydney. While there is a strong perception at club level that the Demons would receive only one first-round draft selection for Scully if he left, the AFL's compensation has a system - and safeguards - that could well deliver the club two first-round draft selections for him. Last year, following lobbying by Geelong, the AFL Commission created an extra category for ''top echelon'' players who were lost to the expansion clubs. This enabled the Cats to receive two first-round selections for Ablett, instead of one.
