CHECK out the score updates from Melbourne's clash against Greater Western Sydney at Manuka Oval in Canberra

First quarter
Melbourne kicked the first goal via James Sellar, but GWS answered with two in a row to claim a six-point lead midway through the term.

Former Demon Tom Scully gave away 50 metres at the 20-minute mark, resulting in a Jack Trengove goal. And when Brad Green converted from a fine mark, the Demons held sway.

At quarter-time, Melbourne led by eight points.

Melb 3.4.22 to GWS 2.2.14

Second quarter
The second term was somewhat of a replica of the opener. Melbourne posted the first through Jared Rivers, before the Giants hit back with two in succession.

The Dees led by just two points at the six-minute mark, until they booted consecutive majors, courtesy of Jeremy Howe and Jack Trengove.

At half-time, Melbourne led by 18 points, but that margin could have been greater, had it not kicked 3.6 for the quarter.

Melb 6.10.46 to GWS 4.4.28

Third quarter
It was a low-scoring third term, with just three goals added, all by the Demons.

Howe booted two, giving him three by the final break. He also took his weekly hanger during this period. Rivers also became a multiple goalscorer when he kicked a soccer goal after receiving a handball from James Sellar.

At three quarter-time, Melbourne led by 38 points.

Melb 9.13.67 to GWS 4.5.29

Final quarter
Just as he did in the first term, Sellar opened the quarter with his second, giving Melbourne a 44-point lead.

But after going goalless in the third term, the Giants had the better of the Demons in the last quarter, booting five goals to two. Jack Grimes landed Melbourne’s only other major for the term.

In the end, the Demons won by 25 points.
