THE MELBOURNE Football Club is celebrating women in football by naming our Round 13 clash against GWS ‘Women’s Round’.
As major sponsors of Victorian Women’s Football League since 2009, the Club is passionate about promoting females who play, administer and support Australian Rules.
There will be lots of activities at the MCG to celebrate Women’s Round including:
All Girls Clinic on the MCG
More than 100 girls will take part in a clinic on the MCG facilitated by Melbourne players and participants of the Trident Girls Academy - a program run by the Club to develop women in football.
High tea at the ‘G
The Women of Melbourne are inviting women to enjoy high tea prior to the game. Guest speakers include board member Karen Hayes, Director of Sports Performance Neil Craig and CEO Cameron Schwab.

Free tickets for women in football
The Club is giving away tickets to 500 women and girls who play and administer football including those from the Victorian Women’s Football League.
AFL Victoria VWFL Academy & Victorian U18 State team Lap of Honour
The under 18 Female Victorian state squad who recently won the 2012 Under 18 National Championships will do a lap of honour at half-time alongside the VWFL Academy. This squad is made of the best young female footballers in the state.
Guard of Honour
Fifty young female Demons will line the MCG to cheer on the boys as the run through the banner.
