RICKY Petterd will undergo surgery on Thursday after meeting with specialists on Wednesday night.

Petterd, who suffered a collapsed lung in last Sunday's match against Carlton, will have endoscopicassessment of his lung to repair any surface damage and to expand thelung.

"It is expected Ricky will remain inhospital for between three to sixdays and should make a full recovery. It is unlikely that he will play footballagain in the 2007 AFL season," the club said in a statement.
