MELBOURNE players Neville Jetta, Jordan Gysberts, Max Gawn and Luke Tapscott donned their Santa hats and visited Monash Medical Centre in Clayton on Tuesday, spreading the Christmas cheer among children and parents.

The players started off with a visit to the children’s ward playground.

The children showed off their football skills, had a kick with the players and shared their stories. The kids’ eyes lit up when Max and Neville produced Santa sacks full of giveaways, with everyone receiving an early Christmas present from the boys.

Next, the players visited several children who were unable to make it outside. They stopped and chatted to several patients and spoke about the upcoming 2011 season. And of course, they revealed their Christmas wish list!

The players also provided some football tips to one young girl, who revealed she plays football for her school. She also won her division championship.

Next stop was the newborn ward. The players visited families who have spent several weeks at the hospital since welcoming their babies.

The players tried to convert the new arrivals into the next generation of Demons.

They did this by giving them mini footballs, so they could practice from an early age.
