WITH TWO games left of the NAB AFLW home-and-away season, Narrm currently sits at ninth on the ladder, with finals footy narrowly in its sights.

So, what do the Dees need from their last matches to secure that chance at the ultimate success at the end of November?

In hopeful terms, back-to-back wins would be the answer, but in reality, it will be the combination of wins, percentage hikes and the results of other games that will come into play at the conclusion of Week 10.

Take a look at Narrm’s final two games as it fights for its spot in finals.

Week 9 | Hawthorn v Narrm @ Cazalys Stadium

While Hawthorn is on an impressive run of six wins, both sides head to Cairns and to somewhat unfamiliar territory. The Hawks will host the game at Cazalys Stadium, a venue they have only played once before during 2023, creating an interesting setting for the two sides to meet.

There’s no doubt the weather will play a key role in the game, with the team to hold out in hot and humid conditions the most likely to take the four points.

In terms of on-field impact, the Dees will need to limit the scoring ability of the Hawks who have put up strong numbers in 2024, accumulating 528 points, with not just their forwards stepping up to the plate, but a collection of players getting amongst the goal action.

However, Narrm’s defence has shown in recent weeks that it’s up to this challenge, most notably against Adelaide in Week 7, holding the Crows to their lowest score of the year – 1.8 (14).

With all this in mind, the Thursday night blockbuster is going to be an important one for the Dees as they make their final push towards the end of the home-and-away season.

Week 10 | Narrm v Collingwood @ IKON Park

To round out the fixtured season, Narrm will host Collingwood at its inner-city home of IKON Park.

The Pies, at the conclusion of Week 8, sit at the bottom of the ladder, presenting a very different scenario for the two sides. While Narrm will be fighting for its spot in the eight, Collingwood will be looking to finish its season on a high, having only won the single game for season 2024.

This won’t mean the Saturday afternoon fight will be any less difficult. The battle will be in the contest, with both teams trying to perfect their work through the middle this year, star players such as Brit Bonnici, Mikala Cann, Olivia Purcell and Tyla Hanks all set to go head-to-head.

If Narrm is able to stick to its strengths and use the energy of the last four games, then a strong win over Collingwood would hopefully leave the Dees heading into finals with the momentum and belief behind them to go deep into November.
