Dees lash Jack ban
By Mark Robinson, Bruce Matthews and Scott Gullan
MELBOURNE players last night erupted in a Twitter frenzy after young teammate Jack Trengove copped three weeks for a tackled described by a coach as “near perfect”. The tackle that concussed Adelaide’s Patrick Dangerfield was lauded in Melbourne post-win video review yesterday. But Trengove failed to have a rough conduct charge attached to it overturned at the AFL Trubunal last night. In another bloe for the Demons, All-Australian ruckman Mark Jamar is set to miss a month after injuring his knee against the Crows on Sunday. As the AFL’s judicial system continues to come under fire, Demons players took social media to voice their disbelief at Trengove’s fate. Skipper Brad Green led the avalanche of criticism and was backed by Colin Sylvia, James Frawley, Nathan Jones, Ricky Petterd and Jack Watts. “Duty ofcare? It was the perfect tackle,” Green wrote.

Trengove out for three over tackle
By Jesse Hogan
A TACKLE that earned Jack Trengove the plaudits of Melbourne's coaching staff has forced him onto the sidelines for the next three matches. The AFL tribunal last night endorsed the match review panel verdict that Trengove's tackle on Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield negligently caused the Adelaide midfielder to hit his head on the MCG turf. The decision immediately drew the ire of Trengove's teammates via Twitter. Melbourne captain Brad Green opined: ''Duty of care??? It was the perfect tackle …'', while another teammate simply declared ''Bullshit!!'' Geelong midfielder Joel Selwood also suggested, via Twitter, that Trengove had been harshly punished. Trengove, who will now - barring appeal - miss the Demons' matches against North Melbourne, St Kilda and Carlton, was in no mood to discuss the verdict last night, saying only: ''I'm pretty disappointed. I've just got to move on.'' The tribunal jury of Emmett Dunne, Wayne Schimmelbusch and Wayne Henwood heard evidence from Adelaide team doctor Andrew Potter that Dangerfield was treated for concussion-like symptoms as a result of the tackle, and that the symptoms worsened after the match. They were also told that Dangerfield was being monitored daily and had not been ruled out for this weekend.
Jamar added to Demons’ injured
By Jon Pierik
MELBOURNE has been dealt another injury blow with ruckman Mark Jamar facing a month on the sidelines with a knee injury. Just a day after losing Jack Grimes for the rest of the season, it's understood the club discovered Jamar had hurt his posterior cruciate ligament playing against Adelaide on Sunday. Jamar, an All-Australian last season, has become one of the Demons' most important players. His absence could give Stefan Martin a chance to reclaim his spot after he was dropped for last weekend's match.

Demons back to earth with a thud as Mark Jamar and Jack Trengove ruled out
By Stephen Rielly and Greg Denham
THE story of Melbourne's compelling 96-point win over Adelaide last Sunday has turned sour, with the Demons battered by bad news since. Twenty four hours after learning that defender Jack Grimes will miss the remainder of the season with a broken foot, Melbourne lost its gamble at the AFL tribunal last night and will be without midfielder Jack Trengove for the next three matches.
