MELBOURNE divisional coaches Jade Rawlings (backline), Brian Royal (midfield) and Leigh Brown (forward line) give melbournefc.com.au their thoughts on how the 46 Demons are tracking so far this pre-season …

Jack Fitzpatrick: Jack is going well and having a good pre-season - probably his best. He has hardly missed a session. He is continually working on his skills and running. - Leigh Brown

James Frawley: James has displayed a very positive attitude, which has impacted on the group. He has really attacked his fitness work. His kicking work has been the highlight of his pre-season. - Jade Rawlings

Colin Garland: Colin has demonstrated a very good aptitude for work. He has shown gains on the track and in the gym. - Jade Rawlings

Max Gawn: Max produced a strong pre-season until he suffered a knee injury. He was competing well with the other ruckmen, but unfortunately Max will miss the 2012 season, after undergoing knee surgery. - Brian Royal

Brad Green (veteran - outside list): Brad started training a little bit later after captaining Australia in the International Rules series. But he has come in and not missed a beat. He is training well. - Leigh Brown

Jack Grimes: I’ve been very pleased with Jack’s progress. He has genuine presence among the backline group and has had a good pre-Christmas. - Jade Rawlings

Jordan Gysberts: It’s been pleasing to see Jordan complete nearly every session. He has been working really hard in the running and football sessions. - Brian Royal

Jeremy Howe: Jeremy is having a very good pre-season. He has hardly missed a session. He just wants to compete and he’s been a leader for the forwards. - Leigh Brown

Mark Jamar: Mark’s leadership has been outstanding, particularly with our young group. He has been leading the way in a lot of areas this pre-season. - Brian Royal

Neville Jetta: Neville is coming off major surgery to his shoulder. He presents very well with his body composition and has a great attitude towards his training. - Jade Rawlings

Nathan Jones: Nathan has been training strongly and has been among the top performers in the running groups. He has been a consistent performer in all football training drills. - Brian Royal

Liam Jurrah: Liam was building into his pre-season, before he underwent minor wrist surgery pre-Christmas. He is set to return to the main training group in mid-January. - Leigh Brown
