FORMER Brisbane Lion Cheynee Stiller is no longer looking to revive his AFL career and has decided he is finished as a player in the elite competition.

Stiller was given permission to train with the Demons during the off-season and there was a chance Melbourne would pick him up as a delisted player or in the AFL Draft. He trained with the club until Tuesday.

However, Stiller had a change of heart, recognising that he no longer had the passion required to move to Melbourne in an effort to continue at AFL level. He informed the Demons of his decision during the week.

Melbourne is understood to have appreciated how upfront Stiller was during his decision-making process.

Stiller's wife is expecting their first child and they made the call to remain in Brisbane as they move into the next phase of their lives.

The 26-year-old had a solid career with the Lions, playing 100 games and leading the club's NEAFL side to a premiership in 2012.

He brought up his 100-game milestone in round 15 against the Swans, in just his third game for the season.
