MELBOURNE youngster Xavier Lindsay has been cleared of major injury to his knee, after being subbed out of the Demons’ Round 3 match on Saturday afternoon.
The 18-year-old was assisted from the field during the opening minutes of the clash against the Gold Coast SUNS at the MCG, with scans on Sunday ruling out structural concern.
Melbourne GM of AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson provided an update on the first-round selection.
“In positive news, Xavier has been cleared of any major damage to his left knee, with scans instead showing a sprain of his medial ligament,” Richardson said.
“While Xavier is unlikely to be available for our next match against Geelong, he will be assessed during the week to guide his likely return date.”
