RETURNING midfielder Jack Trengove says the Demons have not lost their self-belief, despite dropping their past three matches.

Trengove, who will play this round after serving a three-match suspension, said the players had “definitely not” lost faith in their ability and were eager to take it up to Essendon at the MCG on Friday night.

“We’re all very confident at the moment. We’ve trained really well this week and coming off a few poor performances, we really want to turn it around,” he said.

“I think we’ve done everything possible to make that happen and I’m just looking forward to seeing what the boys can do this Friday night.”

Trengove said the Demons will be hell-bent on winning the contested ball against the Dons.

“It all starts with putting pressure on the ball-carrier for the opposing team - tackling and pressure,” he said.

“We’ve been working on that and when we don’t have the ball, we’re making sure we’re doing everything possible to get the ball back in our hands as quickly as possible.”
