IT'S NOT OFTEN that you’ll find the players at the Geelong Adventure Park mid week. But their annual trip to the Berry Street Foster Care Camp provided a great opportunity for the players to cool off and put a smile on the faces of some special children.

James Frawley, Colin Garland, Tom Couch and Josh Tynan made a special appearance at the camp, which provides a unique opportunity for the children and young people in Berry Street’s foster care programs to experience a holiday.

The players spent the afternoon swimming, sliding and floating around the water park with the kids and in turn, creating life long memories.

A highlight for the children was seeing how many push ups Tynan could do while they sat on his back!

Frawley, who has attended the camp for the last four years said: “we love being able to get down to the camp each year. It’s especially great to see some familiar faces year after year and to hear from the parents about what an impact our visit has on the kids.”

Patrice Jackson, Berry Street Hume Regional Director and Chief Camp Coordinator said, “Many of the children who require foster care have suffered some form of abuse or neglect. During the camp, the children are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage teamwork, challenge and above all have fun.”
