Many people in the media have suggested that Scully has already signed with GWS but the latest revelation of the contract negotiations, and considerations, suggest that is not true.
The Herald Sun reports that Scully's management group, Velocity Sports, has confirmed the offers from Melbourne and GWS.
Velocity Sports' Peter Blucher told the tabloid: "Melbourne upped the ante significantly a couple of weeks ago and we invited [GWS] to put something in writing to us, which they've done.
"We haven't told Tom what it is only that it's substantial and it warrants due consideration.
"You couldn't accept one [offer] without at least knowing what the other one was."
According to the Herald Sun, Melbourne's general manager of list management Tim Harrington is aware of the GWS offer,
The tabloid said Melbourne's offer is "believed to be in the order of $3 million for five years".
Blucher said: "We've said [that no decision has been made by Scully] all along. It was a piece of advice from the Gold Coast and recruiting manager [Scott Clayton that there is] no need to rush [because] everyone will still be there at the end of the season."
