Dees draft haul: recruiter's verdict
How the Demons rate their 2013 draft haul
What the club says
"We're pleased because we rated ChristianSalem who has got some elite ability and will add to our midfield mix.Jay Kennedy Harris fulfils a need for us with speed and endurance, hehas really good character and is a nice kid. On that alone we are raptto get him into our footy club. Jayden Hunt came through school footy[at Brighton Grammar] with Josh Kelly and Salem and was right up withthem as a player when he was much younger early but they grew and hedidn't and he dropped off until he grew again. He did some eye-catchingthings in school games this year. - Jason Taylor, Melbourne's NationalRecruiting Manager

Pick 9 – Christian Salem "Hewill add a different mix to our midfield and he does have an ability toplay forward, and we think back as well. He adds some class and someaggression" Jason Taylor
Pick 40 – Jay Kennedy Harris
"We'rerapt to get him at 40. We haven't really got his type of player [who isa small forward]. He not only brings speed and endurance, he's got areal appetite to run and tackle." Jason Taylor
Pick 57 – Jayden Hunt
"Heplayed some reasonable school footy for Brighton Grammar and did someeye-catching things and then again in the 'Young Guns game' [arepresentative game for draft hopefuls]. He is speculative but we didsome research and we think there is enough there. He is genuinely quick, and could be a running half-back or winger. He hasn't been as exposedto footy as the likes of the Christian Salem and Josh Kelly, so he willtake time but he will be supported."
