CO-CAPTAIN Jack Grimes says he thought Melbourne’s days of 100-plus point losses were over.
Speaking after his side’s 122-point loss to North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, Grimes was at a loss to explain why his team produced its second worst performance of the season, when it had improved in recent weeks.
“To be honest, I thought I was past days like that. I don’t really have any answers for it at all, at the moment,” he said.
“Like [coach] Neil [Craig] said, we’re going to have to go back and look at the week and look at the guys going into the game and what their mindset was like. But what can you do? Except try to bounce back and get ready to go next week.
“We’ve got another game in seven days time, so we just have to move on from this as quickly as we can.”
