AFTER nearly two months of isolation, the Melbourne boys returned to Casey Fields on Monday for what proved to be an unusual first day back at the club.
With blue and white cones splitting the field in half, the Demons had strict protocols in place to ensure the AFL’s guidelines were met.
There was hand sanitiser at the door as the first 21 players arrived for the morning session, before the second half of the list attended in the afternoon.
Three different change rooms were in operation as the players broke up into six groups of seven, with just one coach assigned to each.
At no point were more than two groups on the field at once, while all footballs were washed in-between sessions.
Social distancing was practiced throughout the day, with no high-fives or physical contact out on the track.
