The Melbourne Football Club has released episode one of documentary series, ‘To Hell and Back’.

The five-part documentary series provides unprecedented access to its fans throughout the 2020 pre-season program.

With Episode 1 launching on Sunday evening, fans receive a unique look at coach Simon Goodwin’s first pre-season address to the players, Performance Manager Darren Burgess’ program for the off-season and intimate footage of Nathan Jones' address to his teammates as he stepped down as captain.

Melbourne’s CEO Gary Pert was proud to release the documentary, saying it was created to show Dees fans the efforts that go into preparing for a new season.

“It’s important for members and supporters to understand that the term ‘To Hell and Back’ is about our journey,” Pert told Melbourne Media.

“A journey out of, one of the most difficult periods in our club’s history, back to re-establishing itself as a consistently successful, strong and significant AFL club.

“We’ve sent in the cameras to capture a candid pre-season documentary, showing the physical efforts and personal stories behind our 2020 pre-season.

“Led by Simon Goodwin and his team, the intimate access granted has allowed us to capture fascinating insights that are usually only shared with those present. With the To Hell and Back documentary, those moments will now belong to all of our members and supporters."

‘To Hell and Back’ will be released on melbournefc.com.au each Sunday at 7:00pm for the next five weeks leading up to Round 1 of the AFL season.
