FORMER skipper Brad Green will miss the next two weeks with a leg injury.

It continues a frustrating season for the 2010 club champion who has played just six matches in 2012, due to injury and form.

Green missed three matches from rounds four to six with a finger injury, which he suffered playing for Casey after he was dropped for the first time since round 19, 2003.

Football manager Josh Mahoney said Green had been earmarked for round 15.

“Brad was subbed during the Queen’s Birthday game against Collingwood with an upper leg injury,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“Scans during the week showed that Brad had a minor strain in his hip flexor.

“We expect Brad to be available to play in two weeks.”

Mahoney said young tall Jack Fitzpatrick would be monitored after he was recently diagnosed with diabetes.

“Since Jack’s diagnosis, he has been working on a management plan and he will train this week,” he said.

“If he responses well to increased levels of activity, he will be available for Casey this week.”

Four Demons - James Strauss, Stef Martin, Jordan Gysberts and Leigh Williams - all played for Casey in the VFL development league on the weekend.

Mahoney said the quartet all gained some valuable match fitness after they had come back from injury.

“Four players got the extra game time, which was required and got through the game unscathed,” he said.

Utility Rohan Bail (concussion) faces a fitness test after missing the past two rounds. Defender Clint Bartram also remains troubled by a knee problem.

Forward Ricky Petterd is also 50/50 to return this week, due to a hamstring injury.

Goalkicker Liam Jurrah and versatile small Neville Jetta will miss another 2-4 weeks each. Both have ankle injuries.

Rookie Michael Evans (back) will be sidelined for 5-7 more weeks.

First-year Demon Rory Taggert (back) remains out indefinitely and ruckman Max Gawn (knee) will miss the rest of 2012.
