CAM Pedersen says Melbourne is determined to bring the same “intent” it produced in its impressive 39-point win over the Western Bulldogs last round, when it hosts Port Adelaide in Alice Springs this round.
The Demons will play their first of two home matches in the Northern Territory this year on Saturday, and Pedersen said the Dees were eager to record back to back wins for the first time in four years.
“We’ve had a few good games against Port Adelaide, so we’re really looking forward to responding,” he told Dee TV.
“We haven’t won two games in a row in a long time.
“So we just want to bring the same intent that we brought last week.”
Melbourne had two outstanding contests last year with the Power, which finished three points shy of a Grand Final in 2014.
Port Adelaide eclipsed Melbourne by 20 points in round 11 last year, in a highly entertaining contest at Traeger Park and then just held off the Demons by three points in round 18.
Melbourne is now aiming for consecutive wins for the first time since rounds 13 (Fremantle) and round 14 (Richmond) at the MCG in 2011.
