HEAD of development Matthew Egan says he relishing his move to Melbourne.
The former Geelong defender and Essendon interim coach crossed to the club at the end of the 2016 season and said the transition couldn’t have been better.
“I absolutely love it,” he said.
“Having spent five years at a previous club, it’s great to come to a new environment and learn.
“I feel like I’m learning something new every day and I’ve known Goody (Simon Goodwin) and Macca (Brendan McCartney) has coached me and I’ve worked with Jenno (Craig Jennings).
Egan said he couldn’t speak highly enough of the coaching group.
“Getting [to know] people like Jade Rawlings and Ben Mathews and a young coach out of the game like Troy [Chaplin], and seeing Goody’s development – he was running a lot of Essendon, when he was there, but his development has been unbelievable,” he saud.
“Some of our coaches’ meetings are robust and there are a lot of ideas being thrown around.
“In my role, it’s about learning and listening and imparting the things the coaches are talking about.”
