JAY Lockhart is the VFL round 15 King Gee Trademark Player of the Week.

The first-year Demon had 16 touches in the win over Footscray, however it was a game-changing moment late on that thrilled coach Jade Rawlings.

"Jay has had a very good first season of VFL football. He wins the award this week for a Trademark act in the fourth quarter," Rawlings said.

"With three Footscray players converging on a ground ball, Jay threw himself at the ball, got tackled by the Footscray players and forced a stoppage at a critical stage of the last quarter, when we were kicking against the breeze."

Lockhart receives a $150 King Gee voucher for his performance.
